Event Description

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Cam Newton, from his one-of-a-kind hat to his custom-designed bow tie to his sparkly loafers, looked as if he stepped out of a GQ photo shoot when he arrived at his postgame news conference more than an hour after Sunday's loss at New Orleans.

He also wore an attitude.

Some fans -- and Game Allen Robinson Jersey even media members -- have suggested perhaps the Carolina Panthers quarterback should tone down the clothes after a loss. Perhaps bring a more casual outfit in case of a setback to present a more humble image.

That will never happen. It probably shouldn't. To bring a losing outfit would suggest the NFL MVP is considering losing.

He doesn't. So there's no reason to suggest he should lose the designer clothes.

Then a few months later he admitted in Ebony magazine he could have handled the situation better. He talked about representing something "way bigger than himself." He said he felt as if he had let his fans down.

The Bucs are already without backup running back Charles Sims, who was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. The team also placed three-time Pro Bowl receiver Vincent Jackson on IR on Tuesday with a knee injury. Koetter acknowledged that the team has had a rash of injuries, but it's part of the game.

"You know, it's something that you always have to build upon and it takes a little bit of time to get in that rhythm. I thought we had a great week of practice, but obviously after the game, we have to fine tune some things. We have to get a little bit more on the same page and I have to be able to give them opportunities to touch the ball to make plays.

Therein lies one of the issues Kaepernick identified that he wasn't happy with in his first start. He completed just 13 of his 29 pass attempts against Buffalo and was particularly off in the second half when he was 5-of-18. After the game, Kaepernick lamented missing open receiver Torrey Smith on the first drive of the game and pointed to other missed deep balls.

"I know personally there were throws http://www.authenticfootballs.com/allen-robinson-jersey-c-1_437_441.html that I should have made and I want to make and I need to correct those this week," Kaepernick said. "But we have opportunities out there. We have to take advantage of those when they present themselves to us and that will allow us to put a lot more points on the board, keep drives alive, things of that nature that will help us win football games.

To hear some of Buffalo's defensive backs tell it, though, Kaepernick and the Niners are incapable of taking advantage of those opportunities.

"We wanted to do everything we could to make him throw the ball," Gilmore told Bleacher Report. "I mean, he's an athlete. You can't take that from him. But when it comes to passing the ball, he can't really throw.
